Application and Admissions Information

Students can be admitted to the program either Fall or Spring term.  Please apply for admission now and indicate which term you would like to start. Our deadline for Spring 2010 admission is January 15, 2010, Fall 2010 admission, July 15, 2010.  Please contact the area director to be sure that you have the pre-requisite course background if you are interested in starting during the Spring quarter.

Students may take our on-line courses through University Extension (UNEX) at any time.  Up to two UNEX courses can be transferred into the degree program if you decide to apply and are admitted to the degree program.  Please contact our office directly regarding taking courses through UNEX (admissions@msengrol.seas.ucla.edu) .  You will be asked to consult with the area director to be sure that you have the prerequisite knowledge for the course and then given permission to enroll.

Our admissions criteria are based on undergraduate GPA in an ABET accredited science or engineering program together with other evidence of your ability to succeed in highly technical graduate courses.  This includes factors such as work experience in the chosen area of study, and graduate courses completed with good grades in the chosen area of study.
